South Florida is considered one of the best sail training areas in the US, and home of top international super yacht training centers. Consistent breezes, dolphins off the bow, city lights at night, and anchoring in peaceful, secluded Biscayne Bay. You may even have opportunity to nose out to the Gulf Stream for a bit of near coastal sailing.
Training: Sailing from Ft. Lauderdale and throughout South Florida challenges sailors with near coastal sailing offshore while navigating shifting shoals, obstructions, technical inlets, busy shipping fairways, confusing night sailing, and the Gulf Stream - the list goes on. The nearshore winds are perfect for leisurely sailing while the offshore winds can challenge even salty sailors.
The diversity of training options is unparalleled, which is what students want and need! Gaining experience both "inside" and "outside" prepares a sailor for most challenges on the water.
Vacation: The weather's consistently warm, the water clear blue, and the famous white sand beaches are almost endless. The coastline varies from pristine, unspoiled and natural beauty to Miami nightlife and heavy traffic. Ideal training grounds with a bit of everything!
The ports include Miami Beach, the northernmost Keys, and you'll anchor in the backyard of the Conch Republic. When not sailing - enjoy the seafood, live music, and unique cuisine along the coast.
Simply, no experience required to have a LOT of fun....
