CLASS Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations up to or prior to two weeks of the course start date will be assessed a processing fee equal to ½ of the course cost.

  • Cancellations within 14-days of the lesson are non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling cannot be guaranteed and is very difficult if not impossible at particular times of the season.

    • If possible and requested up to or prior to two weeks before the course start date a rescheduling fee of ¼ of the course cost will be required.

    • If possible and requested within 14-days of the lesson a rescheduling fee of ½ of the cost of the course will be required.

    • Classes may not be rescheduled for a following year. 

    • This also applies to discounted or complimentary classes received at the time of membership sign-up. Your card on file will be charged.

  • Failure of a student to attend any or all days or sessions of a course will result in a forfeiture of the class cost and will not be refunded.

    • Any resulting desired make up time resulting from a student's failure to attend or complete a class will be billed at the current applicable private lesson rates. 

  • Inclement Weather:

    • We make every effort to hold classes regardless of weather. However, in the very rare event that classes must be canceled due to severe inclement weather, students will be enrolled in another class during the same season.

  • Cancellation by Island Sailing school:

    • Should cancellation of your course by Island Sailing be necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, then you will be rescheduled to the next available class date at no additional expense. 

    • No refunds will be issued. 

    • In the unlikely event of such a cancellation, we will contact you as early as possible using the information provided in your registration. 

    • Island Sailing does not accept responsibility for travel and lodging expenses incurred.
